Welcome to the world of Carpe Diem, an intermediate/advanced, stray cat, play-by-post role-play.
Magic is not allowed, but creativity is and if you enjoy role-playing or simply love cats then this is a great place for you.
For every member that you refer to Carpe Diem, you will receive 100 points.
We are currently undergoing a Site Plot and will be starting it up once some key members return from vacation. Check it out to join up if you want your character(s) to be involved!
Yoyo is our member of the month this month and with good reason! She's been amazing at being really active around the site, with two great characters that are not only very different from each other but also just unique and great fun to be around - well to role-play at least, not sure how much fun it would be to actually be around Wolf lol ;) Her posts as always of good length and always amaze me with the attention to detail, thought process and effort that's obviously behind them. She incorporates lyrics into her posts for that extra touch and formats them nicely so they're visually appealing as well. But besides being amazing when it comes to role-playing, Yoyo is a friendly, active member that is a welcome addition to our site. She's active OOC and always giving input on whatever I throw her way. Also, I think its safe to say that she's referred more members to this site than anyone else! So congratulations on your MOTM, Yoyo. You really really deserve it. Love ya! <3
This month, due to lack of votes, I actually was faced with the hard choice of hand-picking the COTM myself, a difficult and frightening task seeing as there as so many amazing characters on this site. But for me, this month, Moon really managed to stand out. Apo does a lovely job with her first character and I for one love little Moon. She has a great likeable personality that draws you into her posts and makes you want to read them, sometimes even laughing along with her. Her posts are always well-detailed and in good length, formatted nicely with lyrics to give it a bit of flair. What's more, Moon has a lovely Thoughts thread which I'd urge you all to check out. Images having to do with what happened are always provided and as a personal touch which I love love love, Apo even puts a bunch of emoticons at the beginning of every post to symbolize Moon's mood. It's creative and amazing and extremely cute. Moon is a great character, active in multiple threads, realistic, and tons of fun to rp with. Congratulations on the COTM, sweetie. xD
All in-character posts that you make must be at least 100 words in length.
JULY 18
First off, congrats to the new MOTM and COTM, Yoyo and Moon Coldbite.
Now, I'd like to draw your attention to two important things going on:

Come here to discuss a wide variety of subjects. Whether you wish to chat with others, participate in games or contests, comment on the site or affiliate with us, this is the place to do so.
A Winding, Stretching Path... The old road winds and stretches out from the outskirts of Nenbrook to the beautiful Silvercrest Woods. It is here that many humans decided to abandon their cats when they can no longer handle them. It is here that many a cat has commenced their journey as a stray and it is here that you will do the same...
Chershire A small, cozy neighborhood on the very outside of Nenbrook, Chershire is a quiet community of humans. Many stray cats are seen wandering through the streets and along the sides of the roads and are usually tolerated by the humans. However some can be nasty so cats must keep their wits about them when travelling through here.
Shire Market A couple minutes away from Chershire lies a small market dubbed the Shire Market. A couple stores have been built here for the humans convenience however behind the little strip mall are tall silver cans of garbage and waste not wanted by the store owners. Many a cat has eaten their fill from here however the store owners are not at ll tolerant ad will not hesitate to throw out an unwelcome feline- literally.
The Town Dump Every town needs one: a dump. Every morning, garbage trucks come out to the dump from different parts of Nenbrook and unload their trash. For the most part of the day there are a few humans who work to unload trash and deal with what has been brought over by townspeople however if a cat is careful, he or she can usually manage to plunder more than enough to satisfy their hunger. Just be careful not to get caught!
Laurence Barn A small run-down barn stands near the road. Once a beautiful red and white, the paint has now faded and chipped and it is clearly in need of some serious work. Loose boards provides easy entrance into the barn for any small creature, such as a cat, who wishes it. Inside can be found many squeaking rats that the farmer does not mind at all to be killed.
The Chicken Coop A couple metres away from the barn is a small coop where the farmer keeps his chickens. An indoor shed offers protection during the night while a fenced in area outside lets them be safe during the day as they peck around for seeds. Be warned: unlike the rats, the farmer will mind if his chickens are killed and a similar fate might await any cat he catches.
The Pumpkin Patch Further back is the fields is a large plot of land which the farmer uses to grow his pumpkins during the fall. They make a wonderful sight, all large and round and orange and are quite fun to play amongst, especially for young kittens. During the spring and summer, the farmer uses the field for growing strawberries however all year round it is referred to as 'the pumpkin patch'.
Fisher Park Just outside the woods is a small park where the humans bring their children to come and play during the day when the weather is nice. Some will throw tidbits of food to stray cats seen wandering around but others are quite suspicious and unfriendly to any strays they see and will shoo them away from their children without a second's hesitation.
Inside the Woods Inside the woods it is calm and tranquil, a lovely place to sit alone and think. The woods are large and spacious and the dens foliage provides both cover and warmth for the strays who live here. Humans are rarely seen and when they are it is only along one of the few paths that wind lazily through the woods.
Thorton Stream A small stream banks the park and then winds through the woods in an S. Small fish and minnows can be seen swimming down slowly and occasional frogs can be spotted as well. The stream is shallow enough for an adult cat to wade across but kittens should be careful. Even so the waters just at the banks is shallow enough for the little ones to splash around on hot days while their parents relax in the shade. During the winter the stream is completely frozen.
